Terms & Conditions
Last updated: June 2026
ⓘ These Terms & Conditions govern your use of Phoenix Yoga's services, including classes, memberships, events, and studio hire. By booking a class or purchasing a membership you agree to these terms.
1. About Phoenix Yoga
Phoenix Yoga is a community-owned yoga studio located at 230 Upper Richmond Road, Putney, London SW15 6TG. References to "Phoenix Yoga", "we", "us" or "our" in these Terms & Conditions refer to the operators of Phoenix Yoga.
Our class bookings are managed through Momence. Purchasing a class, membership, or event ticket through Momence is also subject to Momence's own terms of service.
2. Memberships
Starting a membership
Memberships begin on the date of your first payment and renew automatically on the same date each month unless cancelled. By purchasing a membership you authorise recurring payments at the agreed rate.
Sliding scale pricing
Our memberships are offered on a sliding scale. You are invited to pay the amount that honestly reflects your financial situation. This system depends on trust; we ask that you use it in good faith.
Cancelling a membership
You may cancel your membership at any time. Cancellation requests must be submitted at least 7 days before your next renewal date to avoid being charged for the following month. Contact us at phoenixyogaputney@gmail.com or via the member portal on Momence.
We do not offer refunds on monthly membership fees already charged, except where required by law or at our discretion in exceptional circumstances.
Pausing a membership
If you need to pause your membership due to illness, injury, or significant life events, please contact us. We will do our best to accommodate a pause of up to 3 months where reasonable.
Membership transfers
Memberships are personal and non-transferable.
Annual memberships
Annual memberships are non-refundable after a 14-day cooling-off period from the date of purchase, except in cases of serious illness or injury. Please contact us to discuss your options.
3. Class bookings & cancellations
Booking
Classes must be booked in advance through the Momence platform. Booking confirms your place; classes can be popular and we cannot guarantee space for walk-ins.
Cancelling your booking
If you can no longer attend a class, please cancel your booking as early as possible. We ask for a minimum of 4 hours' notice for class cancellations.
Late cancellations and no-shows
Repeated late cancellations (fewer than 4 hours' notice) or no-shows may result in a late cancellation fee of £5 per occurrence, or suspension from future bookings. Please contact us if you have extenuating circumstances.
Arriving for class
Please aim to arrive at least 5 minutes before class begins. For safety and courtesy to other students, we may not be able to admit latecomers once a class has started.
Class packs
Class packs (5-class and 10-class) are valid for the period stated at the time of purchase. Unused classes cannot be refunded or extended beyond the expiry date, except at our discretion in cases of illness or injury.
4. 21-Day Intro Offer
- One offer per person. Available to individuals who have not previously held a Phoenix Yoga membership or purchased a class pack.
- The offer grants access to all regular group classes. It does not include workshops, events, retreats, or private sessions unless otherwise stated.
- The 21-day period begins on the date of your first class, not the date of purchase.
- The offer is non-refundable after first use.
- If you do not use your pass within 60 days of purchase, it will expire.
- After the 21-day period, your pass expires. You are under no obligation to continue with a membership.
5. Yoga Teacher Training (YTT)
- Deposits — a deposit is required to secure your place. Deposits are non-refundable unless Phoenix Yoga cancels the programme.
- Balance payments — the remaining balance is due by the date stated on your enrolment confirmation.
- Cancellation by student — if you withdraw more than 30 days before the programme begins, the deposit is forfeited but remaining payments will be refunded. Within 30 days of the start date, we reserve the right to retain up to 50% of the total programme fee.
- Cancellation by Phoenix Yoga — if we cancel or significantly alter the programme, you will receive a full refund.
- Completion — a certificate is issued only to students who meet attendance requirements and complete all assessments to the required standard.
6. Workshops & Series
- Bookings are confirmed upon receipt of payment.
- Cancellations made more than 14 days before an event are eligible for a full refund. Cancellations between 7–14 days may receive a credit note. Cancellations within 7 days are non-refundable.
- If Phoenix Yoga cancels an event, all ticket holders will receive a full refund or the option to transfer to an alternative date.
7. Studio Hire
- A deposit is required to confirm a booking.
- The hirer is responsible for the condition of the studio during their hire period and agrees to leave it in the state it was found.
- The hirer must hold appropriate public liability insurance (minimum £1 million cover) and provide evidence on request.
- Cancellations with less than 14 days' notice may result in the forfeiture of the deposit.
8. Health, safety & medical disclaimer
Your responsibility
By attending classes at Phoenix Yoga, you confirm that you are in a suitable physical condition to participate, and that you will inform your teacher of any injuries, health conditions, or pregnancy that may affect your practice before each class.
Medical conditions
If you have any medical condition, recent surgery, injury, or are pregnant, we strongly recommend consulting your GP or healthcare provider before attending classes.
Participation at your own risk
You participate in classes at your own risk. Phoenix Yoga, its teachers, and its staff accept no responsibility for injury, illness, loss, or damage arising from participation in classes where the participant has not disclosed relevant health information or has acted contrary to the teacher's instructions.
Personal belongings
Phoenix Yoga accepts no responsibility for personal belongings lost, stolen, or damaged on the premises.
9. Code of conduct
- Treat all members of the community with respect, regardless of ability, background, or experience level
- Arrive on time and turn off or silence your mobile phone before class
- Please remove shoes before entering the studio space
- Do not wear strong perfume or fragrances — many students are sensitive
- Maintain a quiet atmosphere in the studio before and during class
- Do not photograph or record other students without their explicit consent
- Behave honestly with regard to sliding scale pricing
Phoenix Yoga reserves the right to refuse entry to, or remove from the premises, anyone whose conduct is deemed harmful to the community, without refund.
10. Liability
Nothing in these Terms & Conditions limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.
Subject to the above, Phoenix Yoga's total liability to you shall not exceed the amount paid by you for the relevant service in the 12 months preceding the claim.
11. Intellectual property
All content on the Phoenix Yoga website — including text, images, logos, and design — is owned by or licensed to Phoenix Yoga. You may not reproduce, distribute, or use this content without our written permission.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time. We will notify active members of significant changes by email and post the current version on this page with a revised date.
13. Governing law
These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising under them will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
