More than
a studio.

We’re not a business that does community work on the side. We’re a community that runs a business.

Our story Live Karma Yoga ↓

Owned by the people who practise here.

Phoenix Yoga is community-owned — which means that the people who come through the door have a genuine stake in what happens here. Decisions are made with the community’s interests at heart, not a shareholder’s return. Surplus is reinvested into the studio, the teaching and the people who use it.

This matters because it shapes how we make decisions. When a community-owned studio thinks about whether to drop a class format, offer a new price tier, or open the space to a local initiative — the calculus is different. People come first, because people are who the studio belongs to.

We’re proud to be part of a broader movement of community-owned businesses in Putney and across London. Being community-owned isn’t a marketing position — it’s a legal structure and a genuine commitment to the neighbourhood we’re part of.

If you want to understand more about what this means in practice, the best way is to come to a class, meet the teachers, and feel for yourself what a studio that genuinely belongs to its community feels like.

🏛️

Member-owned

The studio is owned by its members, not a single proprietor or investor group.

♻️

Surplus reinvested

Any surplus goes back into the studio and the community it serves — not out as profit.

🤝

Open to everyone

Community ownership means keeping access as open as possible — for all ages, backgrounds and budgets.

Phoenix is home to Live Karma Yoga.

This is one of the things we’re most proud of — and something that makes Phoenix genuinely different from most yoga studios.
